I woke up randomly in the middle of the night, just freezing. I was barely conscious, so I didn’t give it a second thought.
Cue the alarm going off for work: Yup. I’m still cold. Really cold. So, I check the temperature.
13 degrees Celsius.
Not terrible, but certainly not great. Especially given that it’s still winter in Canada. Winter in Canada equals freezing pipes and other such fun things.
So, I tinker, and try to reset it… Nothing. Time to go to work . Get home, temperature has dropped a couple more degrees.
At this point, we’ve borrowed a space heater, and resigned ourselves to being sans heat overnight. Our landlord is out of the country, and gave us his brother’s contact info if anything happened. He wasn’t able to get anyone here until tomorrow evening.
Imagine my surprise (and delight!) when I get a message that the repair guy would be coming tonight.
So, we have heat again. We are to keep an eye on things to make sure it stays working.
In closing, heat in the winter is good. Having an awesome landlord with an awesome family is also good.
